Obligatory terrible Photoshop effort
According to Spanish paper El Mundo, Ronaldo spent €45,000 (£36,000) on the chamber after having first tested it out in a local gym.
Ronaldo has bi-weekly session in the chamber which exposes the body to temperatures that come close to -200°C (-328°F) for a couple of minutes at a time.
The device is said to help muscle regeneration and to aid post-match recovery.
El Mundo said Ronaldo became 'hooked' on the sessions after trying it in his local gym and the process is said to make a person feel 'calmness, pleasure and even euphoria.'
As Ronaldo has scored 16 goals in 13 games for club and country so far this season – it is fair to say it isn't doing him any harm.
He's not the first player to experience the delight of Cryotherapy either – as Franck Ribery illustrates below...wait where have we seen those hands before???
